Overview

The Level 6 qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety are designed for learners aiming to advance into senior roles managing health and safety policies and practices within organisations. This qualification equips learners with the skills and knowledge to understand the legal and regulatory background of occupational health and safety policies, assess policies, recommend and implement policy changes, and apply health and safety management systems.

Entry Requirements

For entry onto the OTHM Level 6 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, learners must possess:

  • Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF certificate or diploma or equivalent recognised qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Mature learners (over 21 years of age) with practical experience of at least 2 years
  • English language competency requirements for non-majority English-speaking countries

Progression

Successful completion of the Level 6 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety provides learners with the academic knowledge, understanding, and skills to advance in various Occupational Health and Safety roles. OTHM is seeking recognition of this qualification to map to IOSH standards for IOSH Graduate membership. The qualification also enables direct entry into relevant Master’s degree programmes as it is approved and regulated by Ofqual.

Assessment is conducted via assignment submission, with no exams.
